Sorry for the long delay. The southern ice storm put things a couple weeks behind. On to the final steps.
I burned through a few more sanding discs for the final touches plus a few hours of fine sanding by hand.
The inside of the sculpture is finished so I set the glass in place and glued on the final pieces of wood.
After the drying time, I added six coats of Danish oil over the entire piece.
So, without further ado......
It's Done!!
I am very happy with the results. # months of fun created a great piece that is on its way to it's new home in Georgia.
I always like comparing the finished piece to the original concept design and I think I came pretty close.
